Every year, Sigma Chi chapters across the country compete in Derby Days. At LMU, our Derby Days involves various fundraising activities on and around campus over the course of a week. Our chapter works with local business sponsors and the University to put together multiple events. One-hundred percent of proceeds go towards our 3 philanthropies. The week culminates in a grand competition and celebration of Derby Days and the fight to end cancer.
To remind you of why we do it to support philanthropies that represent our 3 great aims: friendship justice and learning. For friendship The Herbert Darling Memorial Scholarship, an annual scholarship honoring Herbert Darling III, a brother, who passed away at his time at LMU. The scholarship helps one of our LMU brothers with their tuition. For justice The Santa Monica Rape Treatment Center, pioneering models for state of the art prevention, treatment, education, and training for victims of rape and sexual assault. For learning The Huntsman Cancer Foundation, our international philanthropy cause in efforts to understand cancer from its beginnings in hope for our generation to be the one to end it all!
We need your help to reach and surpass our goal of $50,000! Any donation helps. Please share to friends, colleagues, coworkers, and family. Below linked is the Sigma Chi Donation Link.
